這是遊戲「Thunder Force V」的破關畫面。

人類發現了不明的超科技產物「Vasteel」並製造了超級AI「守護者」來解析Vasteel的技術，但某日守護者卻開始對人類進行攻擊。由於守護者握有超科技製作的兵器，人類在其面前毫無反抗之力。在第一波攻擊結束之後，地球上人口數便銳減到只剩三分之一。

最後人類只能拿出他們最後的王牌，同樣由超科技製造的戰機「Gauntlet」與「Vambrace」，進行破壞守護者的任務。

直到破關之後，才知道守護者的殺戮行為，是為了保護人類的未來。由於Vasteel帶來的科技過於強大，守護者預見人類會因此而滅亡，所以設計引出人類保有的Vasteel Technology — Gauntlet與Vambrace並一次將所有的Vasteel Technology消滅。

在終戰之後，僅存的守護者核心，在動作停止之前向主角發了這封信，冀求主角將搭乘的Vambrace破壞。即使自己即將滅亡，仍為不停止為人類著想。
